A special summer exhibit developed in collaboration with the historic Cannonsburgh Village and MTSU Honors College Dean John R. Vile invites visitors to explore “250 Years of Commemorating American Independence.” Running from Tuesday, June 16th through Monday, August 31st , the exhibit of prints and other artifacts traces how Americans have celebrated independence across generations, set against Cannonsburgh’s immersive recreation of 19th- and early 20th-century Tennessee life. The exhibit will culminate on August 31st with the introduction of the Fall 2026 Buchanan Lecture Series in the Jaycees Building at Cannonsburgh Village. This exhibit is part of the MTSU Semiquincentennial event series, commemorating 250 years of American independence. Hours for the exhibit may vary during the operating hours of Cannonsburgh Village.
